Abstract

The article examines the trends in the transformation of relations between the European Union and the United States under the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump. Euro-Atlantic relations are no longer a priority for the United States. The main ideological, geopolitical and economic contradictions that the European Union and the United States face are shown. The differences between the liberal European integration project and the conservative-populist Trumpist trend “Make America great again” are highlighted. The methodological basis of the article is based on a comparative study of modern political processes in the European Union and the United States. Scientific novelty. Donald Trump’s administration has relied on the support of European skeptics in the countries of the European Union and the dismantling of the liberal project of European integration. The conclusions note that the historical challenge to relations between the European Union and the United States is a natural consequence of the change in the political paradigm of the development of the United States from liberal to conservative-populist.
