ЕКОЛОГІЧНІ АСПЕКТИ «НОВОГО КУРСУ» ПРЕЗИДЕНТА США ФРАНКЛІНА РУЗВЕЛЬТА

Анотація
Світова економічна криза, яка розпочалась у 1929 р., стала однією з наймасштабніших у ХХ ст. і найдужче вона вразила США. Для подолання її наслідків президент США Франклін Рузвельт розпочав масштабні реформи, що увійшли в історію під назвою «Нового курсу». Важливою складовою цієї антикризової програми стало проведення заходів з покращення стану довкілля США. У сучасному науковому дискурсі існують різні погляди щодо мотивації цих заходів. У статті доведено, що президент Ф. Рузвельт мав не лише прагматичні цілі створити додаткові робочі місця і зменшити таким чином соціальну напругу в американському суспільстві. Беручи до уваги загострення екологічних проблем, уперше в історії США було поєднано їх розв’язання зі стимулюванням економічного зростання. Новаторські екологічні проекти (Адміністрація розвитку долини річки Теннесcі, Громадський корпус з консервації) не лише сприяли покращенню навколишнього середовища країни, а й заклали підвалини інтегрованого управління природними ресурсами у США і створили основу для розвитку широкого екологічного руху після Другої світової війни.
